Welcome back after a bit of a hiatus, other events kept me from pondering about the mass transit system at the end of last week. But have no fear (or do, depends whether you like this segment or not), PATCO Ponderings is here.
After a long day at work (or night out) the last thing you want to hear is The Alarm. Trains have them set to warn you if you're leaning on the door, and while that is a bit understandable, I fail to see the need for the one on the drivers area. Yes I know they don't want people touching that, but on a crowded train sometimes you're forced to lean against that area (not me, I prefer to look like a dog standing in the car).
I mean, they have a locked cover on the controls anyway. It's not like you can just unlatch the car you're in and go for a joy ride. I'm probably too much of a complainer, but can we at least turn the alarm to a lower decibel level. Hell, at least make it say something funny or quote a movie.
So to all you people out there setting off the alarm, stand up straight and look like an idiot trying to balance like the rest of us. And to the mass transit system, change the alarm to something more tolerable please.
