Today we evaluate a passenger who takes on quite a few PATCO Ponderings roles, but most importantly, the role of "I'm the next stop." Plain and simple, this person is just annoying and you'll soon find out is actually lying half the time just to get the seat they prefer.
Now I will grant you that yes, there are plenty of occasions when this passenger is in fact the next stop. In those instances, this action is perfectly acceptable. Although, personally I would just slide over and ask go get out when my stop had arrived.
No, my problem lies with those who abuse the phrase "I'm the next stop." You'll sit next to them and suddenly the next stop will arrive and you realize they have no intention of getting off the train. Can you really not slide over for 20 minutes?
So to all the "I'm the next stop-ers" out there, quite abusing the privilege. I'll be happy to let you off the train when your stop arrives.
