
Roberto Hernandez made the start, tossing three and one-third innings while allowing one run. Hernandez struck out four in the outing, but also walked four as he struggled a bit with his command and the umpire's strike zone.
It took 10 games, but the Phillies offense finally showed some signs of life, scoring 11 runs on 12 hits.
The Astros tied things in the sixth after Asche's home run had given the Phillies the lead, but the Phillies would respond with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame to regain the lead on their way to just their second win of the spring.
The Phillies also made their first round of cuts on the day, as Michael Stutes and Luis Garcia were optioned to minor league camp. Biddle, Aaron Alther, Kelly Dugan, Leandro Castro and Sebastian Valle were all reassigned to minor league camp.
Next up for the Phillies will be a matchup with the Twins, as Jeff Manship makes his first start of the spring.
