After finally scoring some runs in Saturday's win, the Phillies offense was right back to being its lackluster self Sunday afternoon. With Stephen Strasburg on the mound for the Nationals in the series finale, the Phillies offense would continue to struggle to put runs across the plate as they have all season, dropping the game 4-1. |
The Nationals would add one more in the seventh on an RBI single by Ryan Zimmerman, as the Nationals' first baseman notched his 11th RBI of the season.
The Phillies would take one back in the eighth on an RBI single by Freddy Galvis, but would be unable to do anymore damage, falling to the Nationals 4-1 and dropping three out of four games in the series.
Up next: The Phillies will now have the day off on Monday before welcoming the only team worse than them in the NL East, the Miami Marlins, to Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday.
