The Phillies jumped on Giants’ starter Tim Lincecum early Sunday afternoon, running up the two-time Cy Young winners pitch count and forcing him from the game after five innings.
Unfortunately for the Phillies, they would only score two runs against Lincecum in the process and would fail to do any damage against the Giants’ bullpen, as they fell 5-2.

Ben Revere led off the game with a single before being caught stealing second base. The base running blunder would come back to bite the Phillies, as Jimmy Rollins drew a walk in the next at-bat before Chase Utley tripled him home.
The Giants would quickly respond, however, taking the lead in the second on a two-run single by Brandon Crawford.
A bases loaded walk by Cody Asche in the third would tie the game at 2-2, but the Phillies offense would lay dormant for the remainder of the game.
The Giants would again take the lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Andrew Susac, a lead they would not relinquish, as they went on to top the Phillies 5-2.
