Phillies Lose Game & Lannan

Not only did the Phillies lose the game and the series to the Braves, they also lost starter John Lannan to injury in the process. The Phillies dropped yet another game to the Braves, losing by a score of 6 to 3 in front of all 1,000 Braves fans in attendance.
John Lannan started the game for the Phillies and didn't last long, as his season may be finished due to a left knee injury. Lannan lasted only one and one-third of an inning before the injury became too much to pitch through. He allowed two runs in the first and left after recording one out in the second and loading the bases. Zach Miner came on in relief and allowed the three inherited runners to score, leaving Lannan's line with five earned runs against it in the end. Miner tossed two and two-thirds while having no runs charged to his own line, only Lannan's. Cesar Jimenez was next up and tossed one and two-thirds scoreless before Luis Garcia came on to record one out. Raul Valdes pitched the final two innings for the Phillies, allowing the Braves to score one more run.

The Phillies got on the board in the sixth, courtesy of a two run home run from Dom Brown, his 27th of the season. The Phillies tacked on one more in the ninth on Darin Ruf's seventh home run of the season. On yet another lackluster offensive night for the Phillies, Michael Young went 2 for 4. Dom Brown had a good night, going 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, as he continues to be one of the few bright spots of the Phillies season.

The Phillies will now give us all a break from watching depressing games, as they have the night off. The loss dropped their record to 53-67 on the season.
