Just one night removed from a walk-off win, the Phillies offense was back to its old self, as they managed just four hits in a 4-1 loss to the Mets.
Phillies' starter David Buchanan would walk in a run in the fifth to put the Mets up 4-0 on his way to collecting his first loss.
Buchanan would finish with 6 2/3 innings pitched, having allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits.
Despite the decent outing by Buchanan, the Phillies offense lay dormant on the night, scoring their only run on a solo home run by Marlon Byrd in the seventh, as they fell to the Mets, 4-1.
The Phillies will look to avoid their seventh consecutive home loss to the Mets on Friday night. A.J. Burnett will take the hill for the Phillies.
