The pressure would fall on John Mayberry Jr., who had replaced Ryan Howard an inning earlier as a pinch-runner.
Mayberry would strikeout for the final out of the game, as the Phillies' rally fell short in the 5-4 loss.
Cliff Lee will now attempt to get the Phillies back on track, as the left-hander takes the mound Saturday night against the D-backs.
