Phillies Release Gaudin

The area hospitals just got a bit safer. Chad Gaudin failed his physical and has been released by the Phillies.

Gaudin had signed a minor-league deal with the club and had a good shot at making the big league club out of camp. The release of Gaudin will take a hit on the Phillies' pitching depth, as the right-hander went 5-2 with a 3.06 ERA last season with the Giants.

More notable than the pitchers stats last season was his arrest last year. Gaudin was cited for lewdness in Las Vegas after he allegedly groped a woman on a gurney at a hospital.
