Jeff Manship got the start for the Phillies, tossing four scoreless innings, while scattering five hits before handing things off to Mike Adams for his first appearance in a Major League game in quite some time.
Justin De Fratus, Brad Lincoln, Shawn Camp and Barry Enright followed Adams, tossing one scoreless inning a piece.
The Phillies got on the board in the second when Bobby Abreu singled home Carlos Ruiz. The Phillies would tack on two more in the third, as Ryan Howard and Marlon Byrd hit back-to-back home runs to push the Phillies' lead to 3-0.
The offense would score two more runs in the sixth and one in the ninth, as the Phillies blanked the Yankees 6-0.
The Phillies will next face the Tigers on Wednesday, as Cliff Lee makes his final start of the spring.
Notes: Freddy Galvis is out of the hospital, as the infielder continues to recover from MRSA. Galvis is optimistic that he could return in three weeks, but GM Ruben Amaro Jr. cautioned that Galvis may not be back until May at the earliest. The Phillies announced David Buchanan will not be on the Opening Day roster. Catcher Koyie Hill has been reassigned to Major League camp after being acquired last week.
