In not so typical fashion, however, the Phillies would rally in the ninth, scoring two runs to regain the lead, as they topped the Marlins 5-4 to snap a six-game losing streak.
Despite the valiant effort, Kendrick found himself and the Phillies trailing entering the sixth inning. The offense would rally in the sixth, as Cesar Hernandez knocked in a run before Cameron Rupp doubled home two runs to put the Phillies ahead 3-2.
The Marlins would not be finished, however, as they scored two runs in the eighth against the bullpen to regain the lead and seemingly put a fine outing by Kendrick to waste.
The Phillies would have an answer on this night though. Some sloppy fielding by Marlins second baseman Donovan Solano allowed them to score twice in the ninth to regain the lead on their way to a 5-4 win.
