A two-run home run by Grady Sizemore in the sixth inning gave the Phillies their first lead of the game Wednesday night.

The Nationals were first to strike, scoring two runs in the top of the first, but the Phillies would respond immediately, as Jimmy Rollins hit a solo home run in the bottom of the frame and Ryan Howard singled home a run to knot the game at 2-2.
Former Phillie Jayson Werth would single home a run in the third to give the Nationals back the lead and Denard Span would add to that with a solo home run in the fifth.
The Phillies would rally in the sixth, however, as Domonic Brown doubled home a run before Sizemore’s two-run shot gave the Phillies a 5-4 lead.
The Phillies offense would add two more runs in the seventh and one in the eighth, as they collected 15 hits total in their 8-4 win over Washington.
