The Phillies continued their early slide Thursday night, as they fell to the Brewers, 6-2. The Phillies' loss, their fourth straight, completed the Brewers' sweep of the club in the first series at Citizens Bank Park this season.

Marlon Byrd homered to left field in the bottom of the second to give the Phillies an early 1-0 lead.

It would be short lived however, as Cliff Lee surrendered two runs to the Brewers in the fourth, giving Milwaukee a 2-1 lead. The Brewers would not relinquish that lead, tacking on one more run against Lee in the sixth before scoring three more against Jeff Manship in the seventh.

Manship would fail to record an out in the three batters he faced before handing things over to Jake Diekman. Diekman would allow two inherited runners to score, as the Phillies fell 6-2.

Lee was solid in the start, tossing six innings, allowing three runs and striking out eight. With little offensive support however, Lee would pick up the loss, his first of the season.

Byrd accounted for both Phillies' RBIs on the evening, as the right fielder hit his second home run of the season in the second inning before singling home a run in the sixth.

Chase Utley returned to the lineup after missing two games with the flu. The second baseman continued his hot start at the plate, going 2-for-4 to raise his average to .464.

The Phillies, now 3-6, will welcome the Marlins to Citizens Bank Park on Friday evening, as A.J. Burnett squares off with Miami's young ace, Jose Fernandez.

Notes: Jonathan Pettibone will be tapped to make the start for the Phillies on Saturday against the Marlins. Pettibone will fill in for the injured Cole Hamels, who could return to the Phillies lineup as early as April 22. Freddy Galvis and Mike Adams are nearing their returns from the disabled list. The infielder and relief pitcher could be back as soon as Monday.
