
After Carlos Ruiz reached base on a Carl Crawford error with one out in the 10th, Domonic Brown stepped to the plate. Brown drove the 1-1 pitch to left-center, doubling home Ruiz and giving the Phillies the lead, as they topped the Dodgers 3-2.
The pitcher would provide some offense on the evening as well, going 3-for-3 at the plate. After leading off the fifth with a single, Burnett came around to score on a double by Marlon Byrd, giving the Phillies a 1-0 lead.
Ryan Howard would tack on one more for the Phillies in the fifth, scoring Ben Revere on a sacrifice fly, but the Dodgers would respond with one run of their own in the bottom half of the frame.
Burnett would allow one more run in the seventh, exiting the game with two outs and the score tied at 2-2.
The Phillies bullpen would proceed to shutdown the Dodgers lineup, as Antonio Bastardo collected the win following the RBI double by Brown in the 10th.
Cole Hamels will make his season debut Wednesday night, as the left-hander squares off with the Dodgers' Zack Greinke.
