Just as he had on Tuesday night, the Big Piece knocked a two-out single to bring home the winning run for the Phillies, only this time he did it in the ninth inning rather than the 15th.
Howard would be swarmed by teammates as he rounded first on the walk-off single to give the Phillies a 7-6 win over the Mets.
The Phillies would begin to rally in the bottom of the sixth, however, as Domonic Brown doubled home two runs to cut into the deficit.
A two-run triple by Chase Utley in the seventh would bring the Phillies within just one, as they cut the Mets' lead to just 6-5.
The Phillies would tie the game up on an RBI single by Marlon Byrd in the ninth before Howard capped the rally with his single to right, giving the Phillies a 7-6 win.
