The Phillies grabbed an early 1 to 0 lead on a Cody Asche double in the second inning. The lead would not hold, as Kendrick began to struggle, while the offense sat idly by, doing no damage. Things got interesting in the bottom of the eighth, when Darin Ruf smacked a two run home run to bring the Phillies within one run. Jimmy Rollins knocked a two out double in the ninth to put the tying run in scoring position. Last night's hero, Michael Young, singled home Rollins to tie the game. Chase Utley followed that with a walk before Dom Brown knocked a game-winning single.
The Phillies will now welcome the D-backs to Citizens Bank Park. Cole Hamels will make the start for the Phillies and look to continue his steady improvement since the All Star Break.
