After 14 innings, and four hours and 41 minutes, the Phillies finally emerged victorious, as Chase Utley drove an 0-2 pitch to right field for a two-run walk-off home run in the Phillies’ 5-3 win over the Marlins.
Domonic Brown would score on a fielding error in the bottom of the seventh, however, tying the game at 3-3.
From there, the Phillies’ bullpen would lock things down, tossing seven scoreless innings to keep the Phillies alive.
In the 14th it would be time for some heroics from the Phillies’ veterans. Jimmy Rollins led off the inning with a single before Utley sent a ball soaring into the seats in right field to give the Phillies a walk-off 5-3 win.
