Roberto Hernandez made the start for the Phillies, throwing five perfect innings before allowing a single to the first batter in the sixth and being lifted. It would be the only hit allowed by Hernandez on the afternoon, as he looked solid in the win.
After allowing the single to the first batter he faced, Giles would settle in, recording four outs before Brad Lincoln came on to pitch a perfect ninth.
Leading by just one entering the bottom of the eighth, the Phillies would score three runs in the inning to extend their lead, as Reid Brignac doubled home a run and Tommy Joseph followed with a two-run double.
The 6-2 win was the second win in a row for the Phillies, the first time they have won back-to-back games this spring.
