The Owls started their comeback late in the third, closing to within six on a Kenny Harper four-yard rushing touchdown. Temple would grab a one point lead early in the fourth, as Connor Reilly ran for a fifteen-yard touchdown. Fordham would kick a field goal to regain the lead, before Temple's Chris Coyer caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Reilly. Granger ran the ball for the two-point conversion to move the Owls lead to 29-23.
Failure to stop the Rams late drive would drop the Owls to 0-3 on the season, as Fordham had a twenty-nine-yard receiving touchdown with just four seconds remaining to escape Philadelphia with a win.
The Owls will now take the week off as they look to regroup before visiting Idaho on September 28.
