The second half would be a completely different story, as Saint Joseph’s was outscored 53-28, shooting just 4-of-21 from the field in the second act. The Hawks managed to hold on for the victory, but it wasn’t pretty.
The Hawks will continue to look to their veterans for guidance, as Ronald Roberts comes off a 20-point outing in the Loyola game, while fellow senior Langston Galloway pitched in 17 points.
Boston visits Hawk Hill having won their previous contest over Maryland to snap a 3-game losing streak. After staking themselves a 10-point first half lead, the Terriers withstood a second half surge by the Terrapins to walk away with the win on the road.
D.J. Irving, who scored 25 points, nearly double his season average of 12.9 points per game, led the Terriers in the contest.
Saint Joseph’s will look to improve to 7-4 with a win in the contest, while Boston attempts to win their final game of the 2013 calendar year.
