The Sixers will be receiving Anthony Bennett who had a historically bad rookie season with the Cavs last year. The 6'8'' forward averaged 4.2 points and 3 rebounds in under 13 minutes a game with a Player Efficiency Rating of 6.9 (way below average). Bennett came into the 2013-14 season overweight and unmotivated but has seemed to turn that around in this year's Summer League. He was in shape and looked confident.
In addition to the reported first round pick involved, the Sixers will be shedding Young's contract worth over $9 million over the next 2 years, for Bennett's rookie scale contract. So while Philly loses experience and talent, they will be gaining more assets and cap space. Sixers fans are still waiting to see what Hinkie will do with said assets and cap room but when it finally happens, it should be glorious.
