Reverse Power Rankings Week 6: Does Anyone Want The Atlantic Division?

12/2/2013

After five weeks of NBA action, the Toronto Raptors are leading the Atlantic Division.  That statement is much weirder than it appears on the surface.  Not only because it's a Canadian team in first place, but because their record on the season is 6-10.  There's still months of NBA basketball left toplay, but it seems like a very real possibility that the Atlantic Division champion will finish the season with a record under .500.  I still predict that the Brooklyn Nets will come out on top, seeing as they are only a game and a half out of the lead, despite everything that has gone wrong for them this season.
Out west, it'sthe complete opposite.  Only three teams in that entire conference have a record under .500, with the Timberwolves having a 9-10 record as well.  It appears as though a team that gets close to 50 wins this season could end up with a lottery pick, since the west is so loaded.  Meanwhile, if the playoffs started today, Atlanta would wind up with the 3 seed in the East, with a record that is only a half game better than the Timberwolves.  Expect these rankings to be Eastern Conference heavy in the chase for the first pick.

Without futher ado, here are the week 6 reverse power rankings:
