
Denver would go on to score the first five points in the extra period on their way to a 77-73 overtime victory over the Hawks.
The Pioneers came out of the gate firing, taking a 15-4 lead just 4:20 into the contest, but Saint Joseph's would respond with a 13-1 run over the next 3:39 of play to take their first lead of the game at 17-16.
Denver would close a seven-point gap over the final 5:10 of regulation time to tie the game at 65-65 and force overtime. Isaiah Miles would get a look from three with just 19 seconds remaining in regulation, but would miss, sending the game to an extra period.
The Pioneers scored the first five points in overtime to take a 70-65 lead, but Miles would respond with a three to pull the Hawks within two.
Denver would manage to hold on, however, topping Saint Joseph's 77-73 in overtime.
Miles would lead the way for the Hawks in the loss, scoring a career-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. DeAndre' Bembry would add 20 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks, but it would not be enough, as Saint Joseph's fell to 6-5 on the season.
