Saint Joseph's jumped out to an early 10-4 lead, but Halil Kanacevic picked up two early fouls and the Colonials took full advantage as the forward was relegated to the bench. With Kanacevic out, George Washington built a 14-point lead with 5:32 remaining in the half before the Hawks stormed back to head to the locker room down just 32-30.
Bembry led the four Hawks' scorers in double figures with 22 points, while Ronald Roberts Jr., scored 16 and grabbed 8 rebounds. Chris Wilson and Langston Galloway pitched in 14 and 10 points, respectively, but it wouldn't be enough as the Hawks' six-game win streak was snapped.
Saint Joseph's, now 21-8, will finish up the regular season with a home matchup against LaSalle on Sunday.
