Ronald Roberts led the Hawks in scoring with 20 points, making it nine straight games with double figures for Roberts. Three other Hawks reached double digits in scoring as well, including 14 points from senior Langston Galloway and 17 points from junior Chris Wilson. While freshman DeAndre Bembry only finished with five points, he was able to help the team out by grabbing nine rebounds and by dishing out four assists. Halil Kanacevic also had a good all-around game, scoring seven points, grabbing eight rebounds, and recorded six assists.
After the last game against Drexel, I wrote that the Hawks needed to find a scoring option off the bench in order for them to be a more complete team. Well sophomore Isaiah Miles must be an avid BSB reader, as he went out and scored 17 points. Miles was very efficient in his scoring, by going 4-5 from the field and converting on all eight of his free throws.
However, as well as the Hawks played to start the game, their second half was incredibly sloppy. They finished with more team turnovers than the Greyhounds and won the game by only eleven points, despite being up 36 at the half. They looked very complacent out there and, while you don't want to keep pouring on the points in respect of the other team, you don't have to give them a ton of points either. Hopefully the Hawks' next game goes more like their first half rather than their second half.
