The Sixers allowed at least 32 points defensively in each quarter as the Pelicans shot an unreal 60.5% from the floor and 46.4% from three for the game. Philadelphia on the other hand only shot 42.7%. The Sixers have allowed the most points per game in the NBA with 108.7. Not exactly something Coach Brown is proud of.
Evan Turner turned in his worst performance of the season only hitting 2 of his 11 attempts from the floor for a season-low 4 points. He has been averaging 23.4 ppg. Wroten added 19 points but only 2 assists at point guard. Darius Morris had a career-high 20 points as he came off the bench. However, most of those points came when the game was already out of reach. Morris also turned the ball over 5 times. Spencer Hawes had a relatively quiet game with 14 points and only 4 rebounds. Both Young and Anderson contributed 11 points.
Jrue Holiday had a great performance against his former team, scoring 14 points and handing out 12 assists. Anthony Davis had 13 points, 9 boards, and an insane 8 blocks. New Orleans had 16 blocks as a team, sending the Sixers' shots away one after another. Eric Gordon had 19 points in a solid performance and Ryan Anderson had 26 (6-10 3pt) off the bench. Overall, New Orleans had 8 different players with double-digit points. New Orleans also had 30 assists as a team compared to an unimpressive 16 for the Sixers.
Brett Brown says he doesn't expect MCW to play on this road-trip at all, but he remains day-to-day. Wroten played well in his first game starting in MCW's place but has had an awful plus/minus with -52 over the past two games. The Sixers look like their missing the rookie play-making and defensive ability. The Sixers travel to Dallas to play Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks on Monday. They need to turn their defensive play around before this losing because a serious trend.
