Norristown native and Temple product Khalif Wyatt was let go after signing a deal with the Sixers in the offseason. Wyatt went undrafted, and although he excelled in the Summer League, saw sparing preseason minutes. Wyatt should have a chance to catch on with another team, as the guard has great scoring ability and loads of potential.
Forward Mac Koshwal signed with the team in the offseason and did little to impress, working his way off the roster.
Somewhat surprising was the release of second-year pro Royce White. The forward battled anxiety issues and a fear of flying, which resulted in him not stepping on an NBA court for te Rockets last season. The Sixers acquired the former first round pick in the summer and he averaged 5 points per game in the preseason, but just didn't show enough for new coach Brett Brown and GM Sam Hinkie to keep him aboard.
The Sixers roster now sits at 16, one above the maximum of 15, which must be reached by the league deadline.
