Coming off a loss in OKC, the Sixers journeyed to Detroit (3-16) for their second game of the back-to-back on Saturday. The Pistons entered the night on a 10 game losing streak. In a contest between the league's bottom two teams, the Sixers would hold on for the victory in overtime, picking up their second win of the season. Final Score: 108-101 OT.
After leading 54-51 at the half, the Sixers almost let the game get away in the 3rd quarter allowing 31 points to Detroit's otherwise terrible offense. The Pistons led 100-97 in the final minute, but Hollis Thompson came up big, hitting a corner 3-pointer off an inbound pass to tie the game up with 13.4 second left on the clock.

Philadelphia held Detroit without a field goal and only allowed 1 point in overtime. The 76ers (2-8) would score the final 8 points in extra time to take another win on the road, their second in three games.

Carter-Williams filled up the stat sheet to finish with 20 points, dished out 15 assists, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks, but also had 7 turnovers. MCW has averaged 12.2 dimes over the last 5 games but he's also averaging 5.2 turnovers over that span. Covington again provided a scoring spark off the bench with a game-high 25 points. Mbah a Moute contributed a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Nerlens Noel added 9 points and collected 8 rebounds while picking up a steal and a block. KJ McDaniels continues to impress on the defensive end, rejecting 4 shots and swiping 2 steals in 33 minutes off the bench. McDaniels is averaging 1.5 blocks per game to lead all rookies. KJ again struggled with his shot (3-10 FG) contributing only 6 points.

The Sixers shot a respectable 46% from the floor and won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Pistons 53-47.

The 76ers also defeated the Pistons last year 123-98 to snap their then record-tying 26-game skid.

Josh Smith led Detroit with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks. Kyle Singler added 21 points while Greg Monroe provided 15 points and 9 boards in reserve.

The 76ers will play the Hawks (12-6) in Atlanta on Wednesday next.
