After putting up some of the best all around numbers by any rookie in their first career game, MCW also had another great performance, posting 14 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds. The 11th pick of last year's draft is looking like quite the find so far and is proving that he will be a major part of the 76ers rebuilding plan for several seasons.
Lavoy Allen and Tony Wroten each scored 10 points off the bench, giving the Sixers a great all around team effort. Defense and rebounding are both vital pieces for a team to have if you expect to win in the NBA. The Sixers demonstrated that they were capable of both by keeping pace with the Wizards and holding them to 43% shooting from the field.
The Sixers look to make it 3 straight against the Bulls tomorrow night at 7:30 in Chicago. Derrick Rose and co are one of the best teams in the league, so it will truly be a great test for the 76ers young lineup.
Although the original plan was to go 0-82 and guarantee a top 4 pick in one of the best draft classes in ages, winning is also a great consolation prize. But don't worry fellow BSB readers, there are 80 games left in the season. Only time will tell if the Sixers will keep up this winning (probably unlikely but crazier things have happened).
