The Bonnies would briefly regain the lead on 2 straight buckets from Marquise Simmons early in the 2nd half. Ronald Roberts returned the lead to the Hawks with 15:04 remaining and SJU would not give it back up. Isaiah Miles capped a 10-2 run for Hawks, making it 70-59 with just under 6 minutes remaining. Saint Joseph's would win on the road, 83-74.
SJU shot an impressive 54% from the field and more importantly knocked down 21-24 from the foul line. DeAndre Bembry scored 18 points while Roberts added 15 points (7-8 FG) and 6 boards for the Hawks. Halil Kanacevic took only 2 shots, but connected on both and blocked 5 shots.
Matthew Wright scored 27 points and swiped 3 steals for the Bonnies and Simmons ended with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Charlon Kloof recorded 5 assists and 2 steals to go with 11 points. Saint Bonaventure's dropped to 6-9 in the A-10.
Saint Joe's will journey to DC to play George Washington (20-7, 8-5 A-10) on Wednesday.
