This time, Temple would have a healthy Will Cummings at the helm as they looked to pull the upset over former Sixers Coach Larry Brown and his Mustangs.
It would be an all too familiar feeling in the end for the Owls, however, as they saw a double-digit second half lead slip away again in a 67-58 loss to the Mustangs.
Similar to their meeting earlier this season, Temple would stretch its lead to double-digits early in the second half, only to see that lead dissipate as the half wore on.
The Mustangs would utilize an 8-0 run, including seven straight points by Nic Moore, to take a 46-43 lead with 8:35 remaining in the game.
The two teams would trade leads over the next five minutes of play before SMU finally gained a foothold against the Owls.
SMU would kick down the home stretch, closing the game on an 18-6 run to pick up a 67-58 win over the Owls.
Cummings would lead the way for the Owls in the loss, tallying 14 points, seven assists, seven steals and three rebounds, but in the end his presence would not be enough for Temple to pick up its 20th win of the season.
Temple will be back in action on Sunday, when they visit Tulsa.
