Senior Quenton DeCosey tallied a career-high 30 points to help the Owls do just that, as Temple held on for a 70-63 win over the Bulls.
DeCosey was hot from the outset, scoring 20 points in the first half to help Temple head to the break with a 35-31 lead.
Temple grew its lead to as much as 15 just less than seven minutes into the second half, but USF would refuse to go away, ratting off a 10-2 run to cut the Owls’ lead to single digits.
Temple was led by DeCosey’s career-high 30 points, while Obi Enechionyia pitched in 13 points and Trey Lowe 11. The Owls also saw the return of Jaylen Bond, who played for the first time in three games after suffering a back injury.
The Owls will next be in action on Thursday when they host Tulsa.
