Bergenheim almost had his hat trick on the empty net at the end of the game, but the Flyers prevented that. The Panthers third goal came on a lucky shot from Erik Gudbranson (didn't make that one up either, I swear) the trickled in past Mason in the last 5 minutes. Though it didn't really affect the outcome of the game since Philadelphia lost by 2, it is worth noting that this goal only happened because referee, Tim Peel, could not get out of the way of the puck in time and was responsible for the Flyers not being able to clear the zone, which would have easily happened otherwise.
The Flyers lone goal came from Wayne Simmonds on the power play in the third, assisted by Hartnell and Giroux. This was the Flyers first regulation loss in their last 8 games.
Thomas' win puts him at 4th among active NHL goalies for wins vs. the Flyers, behind Brodeur, Lundqvist and Fleury respectively.
The tour of Florida continues Wednesday as the Flyers travel up to Tampa to play the Stamkos-less Lightning.
