Number 8 ranked Villanova welcomed the Butler Bulldogs with open arms, and then proceeded to dismantle them and won with a final score of 67-48. James Bell led the way for Nova with 11 points and 7 rebounds on 3-10 shooting. Hilliard also managed to drop 11 points on 5-13 from the field. Neither team managed to shoot that well from three point territory, as Villanova shot 24% while Butler could only muster up a 21% rate from downtown.
Credit the Villanova defense, as they held Butler to 31% from the field the entire game, only allowing 15 buckets. Josh Hart also played well for the Wildcats, as he went for 8 points and 8 rebounds, and recorded two steals on defense. Look for the Wildcats to keep their momentum going as the season winds down and they try to snag the best seed possible for the NCAA tournament.
