Villanova also dominated on the boards, out-rebounding the Blue Demons 35-18. In fact, the Wildcats were able to corral 11 offensive rebounds, while the Blue Demons had just 14 defensive rebounds. When a shot went up for the Wildcats, there was a good chance they would get another opportunity that possession if they didn't make it.
The Wildcats also dominated the Blue Demons from the free throw line. Villanova went 23-27 from the line, good for 85%, while DePaul went just 9-16, good for 56%. Being able to get that many easy points in a game is such an advantage, and it helped propel the Wildcats to victory.
