The city went 1-2 this weekend, as the Villanova Wildcats topped Towson, but the UPenn Quakers lost and the Temple Owls fell to a dreadful 0-6.
Temple 20 Cincinnati 38
The Owls continued their winless ways Friday night as they fell to the Cincinnati Bearcats. I'm still a bit skeptical on the whole hybrid animals thing, but hey, the Bearcats won fair and square.
Temple jumped to a 13-7 lead in the first with the help of a Jalen Fitzpatrick 35-yard touchdown reception and a Zaire Williams 1-yard rushing touchdown. That would be the end of the Owls contention in this game, as Cincinnati scored two touchdowns to regain the lead. Clinton Granger would catch a 30-yard touchdown pass to bring the Owls within one, but the Bearcats would respond with another touchdown before the half.
Temple was held scoreless in the second half as they fell to 0-6 on the season.
The Owls will next face Army at Lincoln Financial Field.
UPenn 14 William & Mary 27
William & Mary cruised early, scoring a touchdown in each of the first three quarters while holding the Quakers scoreless. Two receiving touchdowns by Ryan O'Malley to start the fourth quarter would pull UPenn within a touchdown of the Tribe, but they would get no closer, as William & Mary responded with a touchdown of their own.
The loss drops the Quakers to 2-2 on the season. UPenn will now visit the Columbia Lions, as they look to move back above .500.

Villanova handed Towson their first loss of the season, as the Wildcats put up 38 first half points and held on to win.
Villanova dropped 21 in the first quarter behind two rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown. The Wildcats wouldn't slow down in the second, as they tacked on 17 more against the Tigers with the help of another passing and rushing touchdown each and a field goal for good measure.
The first half points would have been enough for the win, but John Robertson ran for his third touchdown of the day to start the fourth and give the Wildcats a 45-22 lead. Robertson had one hell of a game, as the quarterback went 17-18 with 182 passing yards and two touchdowns and ran for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Villanova will head to New Hampshire next week as they look to improve to 5-2 on the season.
