Jimmy Rollins smacked a three-run home run in the third inning, as the Phillies erupted for eight runs in the inning in a 10-6 win over the Tigers this afternoon.

Kyle Kendrick made the start for the Phillies, giving up a three-run double in the first inning before settling in a bit, as he pitched two innings. Luis Garcia gave up the other three runs to the Tigers in the sixth, although only one of the runs was earned.

Darin Ruf and John Mayberry Jr., each homered and Ben Revere collected three hits in four at bats, but the Phillies fell to 0-2 in Grapefruit League play as they dropped this afternoon's contest to the Blue Jays, 7-5.

Cliff Lee made his first start of the spring, pitching two innings while allowing one run. Jake Diekman took the loss, throwing one inning, giving up 2 runs.

According to a tweet from MLB.com writer Anthony Castrovince yesterday, a fan felt so inclined as to mail Cliff Lee their fingernail clippings. I'm sure a celebrity/athlete has been mailed much stranger things before, but it's safe to say this is probably the weirdest/grossest thing Lee has ever been sent.

The area hospitals just got a bit safer. Chad Gaudin failed his physical and has been released by the Phillies.

Gaudin had signed a minor-league deal with the club and had a good shot at making the big league club out of camp. The release of Gaudin will take a hit on the Phillies' pitching depth, as the right-hander went 5-2 with a 3.06 ERA last season with the Giants.

The Phillies officially announced the addition of Jamie Moyer and Matt Stairs as color commentators. Both Moyer and Stairs were members of the 2008 Phillies squad that won the World Series, with Stairs having possibly the most memorable home run in Phillies history in the NLCS that year.
