An offensive outburst in the second inning spotted Cliff Lee a 6-0 lead, but it would be short-lived, as the left-hander struggled on the afternoon.

Following an inning that saw the Phillies draw three walks (out of character for the Phillies of years past) and was capped by a Jimmy Rollins grand slam, Lee found himself with a seemingly comfortable lead.

It would be anything but, as the Rangers scored four runs in the bottom half of the second and three more in the third to take a 7-6 lead. The Phillies would respond however, winning the high-scoring Opening Day affair 14-10 over the Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Kyle Kendrick went five scoreless innings in his final tune up before the regular season. Kendrick allowed just three hits in the outing, but with the Phillies offense still nowhere to be found, they fell to the Pirates 3-0.

Chase Utley would double off the top of the fence in right field in the first, but would be stranded on base.

Domonic Brown gunned down Russell Martin at home in the top of the fourth to keep the game scoreless.
