It's over.

Take solace in that.

Unfortunately, seasons such as this one are likely to continue until the Phillies begin to make some radical changes within the organization.

Perhaps the only person as frustrated as the fans with this team, Cole Hamels, was on the mound today and continued to receive little support from his teammates in a 2-1 loss to the Braves.

Major League Baseball has suspended Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon for seven games and fined him an undisclosed amount for his actions in Sunday's game.

Papelbon grabbed his crotch at the fans when exiting the field as the boos rained down. He was swiftly ejected and then proceeded to get into it with the umpire.

David Buchanan was able to string together another solid outing on Sunday, as the rookie starter tossed 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one run.

Unfortunately for Buchanan and the Phillies, the solid outing would come on one of the few days this season where closer Jonathan Papelbon has been roughed up. Papelbon entered the ninth with a three-run lead, but quickly saw that lead disappear, as he allowed four runs to blow the save and take the loss as the Phillies fell 5-4 to the Marlins.

Jimmy Rollins ripped a triple to right field in the fourth inning and came home two batters later on a Ryan Howard single to break a scoreless tie between the Phillies and Pirates.

Unfortunately for Rollins and the Phillies, he strained his left hamstring while legging out the triple and was lifted from the game. Rollins will have an ultrasound Tuesday, but the veteran shortstop said he expects to miss at least 10 days.

While all of Philadelphia was busy watching the Eagles score 34 unanswered points on their way to a win over the Jaguars, the Phillies were busy providing Cole Hamels with little offensive support.

Hamels was solid in the outing, allowing three runs in 6 1/3 innings, but would pick up the loss in the end, as the Phillies dropped the series finale to the Nationals 3-2.

It appears as if the Phillies have figured out the Nationals. After sweeping Washington just more than a week ago, the Phillies stormed back from a five-run deficit and eventually topped the Nationals in extras last night.

The Phillies would not need a comeback or extra innings on Saturday afternoon, however, as they rode a dominant A.J. Burnett to a 3-1 win to take their fifth straight game against the Nationals.

Both the Phillies and Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez probably envisioned a much better start to his Major League career after the right-hander signed a three-year, $12 million contract last summer.

After injuries derailed Gonzalez’s season multiple times, the Cuban pitcher finally made his Phillies debut on Wednesday. Gonzalez again came up lame, this time in the box score rather than with an injury.

Gonzalez replaced an injured Mario Hollands in the fifth with runners on the corners, allowing the go-ahead run to score before surrendering two more to the Braves in the sixth, as the Phillies fell 7-4.

Four Phillies Pitchers Combine to No-Hit Braves

It was far from the sharpest outing of Cole Hamels’ career, as the veteran lefty walked five and hit a batter in his six innings pitched Monday afternoon.

The end result would be one of Hamels’ most memorable, however, as four Phillies pitchers combined to no-hit the Braves in a 7-0 win.
