The bullpen was at it again Friday night at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies took a 3-2 lead into the eighth inning behind Cliff Lee's solid start, only to see that lead rapidly disappear, as the bullpen collapsed in the Phillies' 5-3 loss to the Nationals.

Cliff Lee was spotted an early lead, as Marlon Byrd smacked a three-run home run in the first inning. Lee would work well with that lead, surrendering just two runs and four hits in seven innings of work.
Lee would be unable to pick up the win however, as the bullpen immediately imploded upon his departure from the mound.
Mike Adams came on to start the eighth, surrendering one run and hits to each of the first three batters before the Phillies gave him the hook. With the game tied at 3-3, Jake Diekman would take the mound, only to allow two inherited runners to score before escaping the inning.
A shaky bullpen continues to be problematic for the Phillies, as they dropped the series opener to the Nationals, 5-3.
A.J. Burnett will look to get the Phillies back on track Saturday night, as he faces off against Tanner Roark.
