A strong start early by David Buchanan saw the Braves' scoreless streak reach 20 innings, and the Phillies take a 2-0 lead into the seventh.
The Phillies would be unable to finish off the Braves, however, coughing up the lead in the seventh before eventually falling 5-2.

Buchanan dealt early for the Phillies, sitting down the Braves in order in the first four innings. Ryan Howard would reward Buchanan for his solid work early, smacking a two-run home run to center in the fourth to break a scoreless tie.
Freddy Galvis would make a tremendous play in the field in the top of the sixth, as things appeared to be going the Phillies' way, but Atlanta would not be finished.
The Braves would get on the board in the seventh, when Andrelton Simmons (who has a name that sounds like a cold medicine) led off the inning with a solo home run. Buchanan would get the next two hitters to fly out, but would then walk two consecutive batters and be pulled from the game.
Jake Diekman would come on for Buchanan, and would waste little time coughing up the lead, allowing an RBI single and double to the first two batters he faced as the Braves took a 3-2 lead.
Atlanta would tack on two more in the eighth on their way to a 5-2 win over the struggling Phillies.
Notes: Two days after setting a record for the smallest crowd ever at Citizens Bank Park at 17,097, the Phillies had an announced attendance on 24,748. I call bullshit.
Up next: The Phillies will look for just their second series win of the season Sunday, as Jerome Williams takes the hill against Trevor Cahill and the Braves in the series finale.
