Cliff Lee returned from the DL on Monday night in what was quite possibly his final start in a Phillies uniform.
With the Trade Deadline rapidly approaching, the Phillies were looking for Lee to come back strong in first start since May 18. That wouldn’t happen.
Lee allowed six runs on 12 hits and lasted just 5 2/3 innings, coughing up the lead before exiting the game. The Phillies would be unable to regain the lead after that, falling 7-4 to the Giants.

Down 3-2 entering the bottom of the fourth, the Phillies offense would give a slight pick-me-up to Lee, as Ryan Howard singled home two runs to put the Phillies ahead.
Lee would show his rust in the sixth, however, allowing three runs and being knocked out of the game, as the Giants took a 6-4 lead.
The Giants would add on one more in the eighth on an RBI triple by former Phillie Hunter Pence, as they took the first game of the series 7-4.
