On Thursday, Cliff Lee made his first appearance since July 31 of last year, when he was sidelined with a left a left elbow strain for the remainder of the season. The veteran lefty looked solid in his first spring outing, allowing just two hits and no walks across two scoreless innings of work.
The Phillies would struggle upon Lee's departure, however, as Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez allowed a run in the third and fourth innings. The Astros would maintain control from there, picking up a 6-3 win over the Phillies.

Gonzalez, who is fighting for a spot at the back end of the starting rotation, would struggle in his first appearance this spring, allowing an RBI single to Robbie Grossman in the bottom of the third.
The Phillies would get that run back in the fourth on a double by Cody Asche, but Gonzalez would cough up a home run to Luis Valbuena in the bottom of the frame to give the Astros a 2-1 lead.
The Astros would hit two more solo shots in the fifth off of Phillippe Aumont to extend their lead to 4-1.
Houston would tack on two more in the eighth, including one run on an RBI double by former Phillies prospect Jon Singleton, on their way to a 6-3 win over the Phillies.
The Phillies will be back in action Friday against the Yankees at Bright House Field, as Cole Hamels makes his first appearance of Spring Training.
