Lights Out For Lidge

Former Phillies closer and World Series Champion, Brad Lidge, will sign a ceremonious 1-day contract tomorrow and then retire as a Phillie.  Tomorrow is essentially Brad Lidge night at CBP.  He will also throw out the first pitch to none other than Carlos Ruiz.
I'm thrilled that Lidge is retiring a Phillie.  There is no more iconic image that makes you think of the Phillies '08 World Series win than the one I've posted here.  There just isn't.  The hitters may have figured out Lidge in the seasons following the WS win, leading to his declining production, but for that year there was such a palpable excitement in the air when he was about to come pitch.  Still gonna wear my busted up #54 shirt proudly for years to come.

For who? My teammates. For what? To win.
