The Mets wouldn't need extra innings on Monday night.

Instead, they just smacked the Phillies around for nine innings, winning in dominating fashion, 11-2.

New York would get on the board in the second on a Lucas Duda RBI double and tack on four more in the top of the sixth to break the game wide open.

The Phillies would take one back in the bottom of the frame to pull within 5-1. A wild pitch in the eighth would allow the Phillies to score their only other run of the game, as the offense was completely shut down.

For good measure, the Mets would score six more runs in the ninth inning, including a grand slam by Wilmer Flores, as they cruised to an 11-2 win over the Phillies.

After a disappointing home stand, the Phillies will now head to Washington, where David Buchanan will take the mound against Jordan Zimmerman.

For who? My teammates. For what? To win.
