A.J. Burnett dropped his first appearance as a member of the Phillies, allowing one run in two innings pitched, as the Phillies fell to the Pirates, 4-1.

Jesse Biddle relieved Burnett, allowing two runs in two innings pitched, while Antonio Bastardo allowed the Pirates' other run on a solo home run.

The offense again failed to get anything going in the loss and the lineup took a hit, as Cody Asche was hit in the hand by a pitch, forcing him out of the game.

Asche was hit in the right hand and it didn't sound good, as Asche looked to be in quite a bit of pain. Early tests have shown just a bruise however, and an ultrasound came back negative.

There may be more tests Monday, but for now things don't seem too bad. On another note, can we think of a better word than "negative" to use when a test shows no broken bones?

For who? My teammates. For what? To win.
