Things started off well for the Phillies on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.
They would not end well, however, as the Cardinals erased a 3-0 deficit, going on to a 5-3 win to top the Phillies for the second straight day and spoil a strong road trip for Philadelphia.

A bases clearing double by Cody Asche would stake the Phillies a 3-0 lead in the second inning, but the offense would go cold from there.
The Cardinals would erupt for four runs in the fourth inning to take the lead, and would not look back, scoring an insurance run in the sixth, as they went on to top the Phillies 5-3.
The Phillies will now head home, where they will kick off a four-game set with the Marlins on Monday.
