Cole Hamels finally caught a break.
The veteran lefty finally received some run support, and with the help of a young reliever was able to secure just his third victory of the season in the Phillies' 3-2 victory over the Brewers.

Chase Utley hit a two-run home run to right center field in the top of the first to give Hamels a 2-0 lead to work with, something he is not accustomed to this season.
Utley would score again in the third, when he made it home from first on a Ryan Howard single to extend the Phillies' lead to 3-0.
Hamels was so shocked to be pitching with a three run lead, he allowed the Brewers to score twice in the fifth to put himself in a position he is more comfortable with. At least, that's what I assume.
Hamels would get into a bit of a jam in the seventh, as he walked the leadoff batter before eventually finding himself with men on first and second and two outs.
Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg would turn to the bullpen at that point, tapping Ken Giles in relief. Giles would not disappoint, stranding the runners to preserve the Phillies' 3-2 lead.
Giles would return for the eighth, allowing a leadoff double before escaping the inning and handing things over to Jonathan Papelbon for the save.
