The Rockies jumped on Phillies starter Jonathan Pettibone early and continued to pile on throughout, as the Phillies were demolished 12-1.
After allowing four runs in the first inning, Pettibone found himself in trouble yet again in the second. With a man on second and two outs, Pettibone intentionally walked Carlos Gonzalez to get to Troy Tulowitzki.

Big mistake.
Tulowitzki would take the second pitch of the at-bat deep to dead center field for a three-run home run, putting the Rockies up 7-0 and crushing any hope the Phillies had of winning this one.
Pettibone would allow one more run on a Tulowitzki double in the fourth before exiting the game, having pitched four innings and allowed eight runs.
Mike Adams would relieve Pettibone, making his season debut for the Phillies, as he pitched a perfect fifth inning on just seven pitches.
The Rockies would add four more runs before this one was over, but they would be completely unnecessary, as the Phillies left their bats in Philadelphia.
The Phillies managed just two hits the entire game, scoring their only run on a Jayson Nix single to bring home Carlos Ruiz, who had reached base on an error.
The Phillies have now scored just two runs in their past three games. They will look to put an end to that Saturday night when they face the Rockies. Kyle Kendrick will make the start, squaring off against Jordan Lyles.
Notes: Jonathan Pettibone was optioned to Triple-A following the game to make room for reliever Shawn Camp. Cole Hamels is set to join the Phillies rotation next week. Manager Ryne Sandberg said Hamels will most likely make his season debut on Wednesday against the Dodgers.
