Just one day removed from being no-hit by Josh Beckett and the Dodgers, the Phillies offense had an outburst, as they routed the Rockies, 9-0.
The Phillies would score again in the fifth before Ryan Howard smacked a two-run home run in the sixth to break the game open and put the Phillies ahead 4-0.
The offense would continue to pile on in the seventh, as the Phillies scored five runs, while Howard picked up his fifth RBI of the evening.
While the offense was showing signs of life that seemed unheard of on Sunday afternoon, Kyle Kendrick was dealing on the mound, tossing 6 2/3 shutout innings on his way to picking up his first win of the year.
Cole Hamels will take the mound on Tuesday night at citizens Bank Park, as he squares off with Jorge De La Rosa and the Rockies.
